Statement
Collection
In
the course of our business we collect and hold personal
information. The purpose for collecting this personal
information is to develop a complete understanding of
a person so that we can develop financial plans and
reviews that are appropriate to their circumstances,
needs and objectives.
Wherever
it is practicable, we will give clients the option of
not providing full personal information. However, failure
to provide full and complete personal information that
we request may mean that we are unable to provide financial
services to the client fully and properly.
Use
and Disclosure
We
will only use a client's personal information for the
main purpose we informed the client that it was needed
for, unless otherwise authorised by the client.
Data
Quality
Once
we hold personal information we will take reasonable
steps to keep it accurate, complete and up-to-date.
At the outset, we will explain to our clients the importance
of them notifying us of any changes to their circumstances.
For clients who receive regular reviews, we will verify
their circumstances at the time of review.
Data
Security
We
will take reasonable steps to ensure that this information
is kept secure with the purpose of ensuring that no
unauthorised persons will have access to the information.
Openness
If
clients ask, we will take reasonable steps to tell them
what personal information we hold about them, for what
purposes, how we collect, hold, use and disclose that
information.
Access
and Correction
We
will facilitate access to information by allowing an
inspection of personal information in person, or by
providing copies or a summary of relevant documents,
depending on what is most appropriate in the circumstances,
following receipt of a request. Any charge we make for
providing access will be reasonable.
Identifiers
We
will not adopt as our own any identifiers that clients
may provide to us such as Tax File Numbers, Medicare
numbers etc. In the case of client Tax File Numbers,
we will only maintain a copy of the Tax File Number
and use it for tax related purposes if the client authorises
us to do so.
Anonymity
We
respect a person's right not to identify his or her
own self, where lawful and practical. This would not
apply to circumstances under which we normally deal
with people, because to prepare a financial plan we
would need a person's identity.
Sending
Data Overseas and Third Party Websites
We
will not send any personal information about our clients
overseas unless the client consents to this.
Sensitive
Information
We
do not collect sensitive information (such as a person's
religious beliefs or political persuasion) unless the
person freely offers this information and we believe
it is necessary to develop a financial plan that is
appropriate to their needs.
